The Findings
The comprehensive analysis, led by researchers Menghao Xu, Mengdi Zhu, and Cuihong Zheng, examined data from 25 trials involving a total of 4757 participants. The findings revealed that incorporating acupuncture alongside IVF significantly improved both the clinical pregnancy rate (CPR) and live birth rate (LBR) compared to traditional IVF treatments alone
The study found that acupuncture:
- Increased implantation rates by 28%
- Increased IVF clinical pregnancy rates by 33%
- Increased live birth rates by 33%
- Decreased the risk of biochemical pregnancies by 51%
