This personal story is about a Vancouver fertility couple who, despite having had a miscarriage previously following a successful IVF, went on to conceive naturally and deliver a beautiful boy. Interesting, we had been working together to optimize her fertility using acupuncture, herbs, and lifestyle changes for about three months when her IVF clinic told her she could not wait and continue our natural preconception care because not only was she 40 but her Day 3 FSH was 19.
At the age of 35, my husband and I finally decided that it was time to start a family. After three years of trying, we were still unsuccessful. We did all the testing with our family doctor, who found no reason for infertility. I did three rounds of Clomid which did not work. I then decided to contact Dr. Lorne Brown at the encouragement of my best friend.
Ovulatory disorders are one of the main causes of infertility. The following story is from a Vancouver woman who was diagnosed with polycystic ovrian syndrome (PCOS) and did not ovulate regularly without the use of medications. She is another example of a woman who began to ovulate regularly and then conceived naturally and gave birth after following the Acubalance PCOS program of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, supplements, and diet.
A Vancouver woman was diagnosed with low ovarian reserve, advanced maternal age and male factor infertility (low sperm count and poor morphology). She had a previous failed ICSI cycle before coming to Acubalance. After diet and lifestyle changes, combined with a regime of acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapy to help optimize the environment for her eggs, she went on to to have a very different ICSI result. It was successful and she's expecting twins.
I'm 40 and pregnant with twins!
A friend of mine told me about Acubalance over two years ago. She had successfully had both her babies who were breech turned around by acupuncture treatments at Acubalance. She also had heard that acupuncture treatment helps prevent miscarriage.
I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 18. Despite being diagnosed with a chronic disease, I was very healthy and had good control of my blood sugar levels. Because of this, I didn't think I'd ever have problems getting pregnant. My husband and I started trying to conceive soon after we married when I was 27. I had stopped taking the pill after 11 years of being on it. The problem I noticed as soon as I got off the pill was that I had little to no periods each month. They were light, sparse, and pretty much non-existent.
For all of you who are struggling with stress related to infertility issues, age, poor response, or previously failed IVF, I would like to share my inspirational and insightful experience with Dr. Brown and Acubalance. I was almost 42 yrs. old when I first met Dr. Brown and had struggled with two natural miscarriages and one failed IVF over a two-and-a-half year period.
There’s a saying “it takes a village to raise a child.” In our case, it took a village to create a child. Well, maybe not a village but a team of dedicated medical professionals who’s one goal was to help us create our child.
I am 38 years old and am expecting my first child. I am writing this blog to all the older moms to tell you not to give up! My husband and I tried to have a baby for over two years. Due to my age, we headed to the fertility clinic for help after one year of trying on our own. Over the next year, we tried two IUI's and two failed IVF’s. The reason for our failed IVF’s was being called “Diminished Ovarian Reserve” (basically small amount of available eggs and concerns about egg quality).
My husband and I started trying to conceive when we got married six years ago. After a couple of years went by with no luck, we decided to go into our doctor’s office to see if there was a problem. The doctor couldn’t find anything wrong but suspected that damage from a surgery I had four years earlier to remove some pre-cancerous cells from my cervix might be a contributing factor. This meant that we needed to get help.
