I decided to try acupuncture as a last resort before trying any more IVF treatments and I am so glad I did. Ryan really listened to all my health concerns and put together a plan specifically for me. The treatment started by focusing in on my diet and lifestyle changes that needed to be made, along with acupuncture treatments and Chinese Herbs. After 3 months on this program, my husband and I realized we were pregnant! For the first time in over 3 1/2 years I saw the two pink lines I had been waiting to see every month. We were in such shock we almost didn’t believe it until we did more tests and it was confirmed that I was pregnant. After the positive pregnancy results, I still kept going to Acubalance to see Ryan for weekly acupuncture treatments and also saw Dr Kali MacIsaac (Naturopath) for added nutritional support and other recommendations during the pregnancy. In the midst of my pregnancy, I found out that I had complete Placenta Previa, which if not resolved would lead me to deliver via C-section and also pose a higher risk pregnancy. My doctor told me that there were no treatments for this condition and that I would just have to wait and see if anything changed. I again went to Ryan for support on this. He added other treatments to my plan and at my 30 week ultrasound I was told that I no longer had Complete Placenta Previa, in fact it had completely moved and I could deliver normally and was no longer a higher risk pregnancy.
