Conscious Work /Energy Psychology
We offer Belief change work also referred to as conscious work or energy psychology.
The focus is to take your body out of a state of alarm (sympathetic mode) because when we are in the fight or flight mode our energy is mobilized for survival and our resources are not available for creativity, healing and reproduction. The habitual state of alarm over time leads to chronic inflammation which can cause accelerated biological ageing and premature degenerative diseases. When you are able to elicit the relaxation response daily and engage the parasympathetic nervous system (the rest & digest and breed & feed system) then it frees up your resources for healing, creativity and reproduction. Change your limiting beliefs.
Many of us sabotage our desires because we run subconscious programs (often inherited from childhood) that block us from experiencing joy and achieving our goals of health, loving relationships, abundance, and happiness.
You can choose to rewire your brain and remove old programs that no longer serve you and replace them with new programs and beliefs that serve your best interest.
We can offer belief change sessions via Telehealth or in a combination with acupuncture and low-level laser therapy (LLLT/photobiomodulation) during our Acubalance sessions.
What it is not:
It is not about bypassing, stuffing down, or denying negative thoughts and feelings and simply replacing them with positive thinking. This approach of only positive thinking is superficial and just covers up negative thoughts, however, the negative feelings are still there smoldering in the background underneath and eventually they resurface and are often stronger and more resilient.
It is not about indulging, wallowing, or dramatizing your negative feelings either.
It is not talk therapy.
What it is about:
It is inner work.
It is solution-focused work.
It is how to "Now". It is conscious work.

The belief change sessions are about you being sensitive to your feelings and being present to your feelings. When you are present and resourced, you can then consciously choose to change and transform these unwanted feelings and self-limiting beliefs to feelings and programs that serve you in your daily life.
Energy psychology (EP) / Belief Change Modalities is a collection of mind-body approaches for understanding and improving human functioning. EP focuses on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, sensations, and behaviours, and known bioenergy systems (such as meridians and the biofield).
Within an EP framework, emotional and physical issues are seen, and treated, as bio-energetic patterns within a mind-body-energy system. The mind and body are thought to be interwoven and interactive within this mind-body-energy system, which involves complex communication involving neurobiological processes, innate electrophysiology, psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), consciousness, and cognitive-behavioural-emotional patterns.
The use of EP has resulted in the development of associated methods and models to treat psychological and emotional problems, facilitate health and wellbeing, and improve human performance. These models and methods are usually used within an integrative or holistic approach to practices such as psychotherapy, counseling, coaching, integrative medicine, acupuncture, and other healing modalities.

Dr Lorne Brown deleveoped an approach he calls NOTICE*ACCEPT*CHOOSE AGAIN (NAC) that consists of present moment tools to shift you from your habitual reactionary responses into intentional, present awareness where you get to consciously choose how you feel and act. It is not about suppressing or ignoring stress and negative feelings. It’s about being aware in the present moment and therefore fully resourced which allows you to change your perception and relationship to stress. When you are present, fully resourced, you are then able to choose to consciously respond instead of unconsciously react and in the process, you undo outdated subconscious programs and replace them with new beliefs and programs that better serve you.

Some of the tools included in the NAC approach can help lower cortisol levels, reduce activity in your amygdala, make changes in your hippocampus and change some gene expression. This helps you be less prone to an old habitual negative reaction to stressors and to choose not to take it personally and instead choose how you want to feel. This conscious work is beneficial only when experienced through practice. The value is not in the knowledge but rather in the application. The longer you do it the easier it becomes and the easier it becomes the longer you do it. And the more we do it, the greater the benefit.
NAC Approach to Present Moment and Transform Suffering to Peace of Mind
How your beliefs create your reality and how you can use your thoughts to create new habits (beliefs) and thus your new reality.
Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.
The NAC Protocol:
N: NOTICE the negative feelings (e.g. resistance, stress, Qi stagnation). Don’t take it personally.
A: ACCEPT what is (a form of surrender)
C: CHOOSE again/differently
When you do the above, you will be resourced and awake.
Stop! Choose not to take what is happening personally. Every single thing that happens in life is neutral, and then we give it meaning.
All humans have free will, which means you can choose not to react to something that happens and not to amplify any negative emotions you are experiencing. You can instead decide to become fully present, and then consciously choose how you want to feel.
ACCEPT WHAT IS
When we argue with reality, we suffer. But you don’t want to deny reality either. Instead, you can choose to accept things as they are in the current moment.
This doesn’t mean that you like the way things are or that you want it to be this way. It means that you simply stop fighting against reality. You’re saying “this is the way things are at this moment” instead of resisting them. This practice keeps you well-resourced so you can respond to situations consciously using your whole brain, instead of being reactive and hijacked by your reptilian brain.
If you want to be healthy, then practice feeling whole and complete.
If you want to be wealthy, then practice feeling abundant.
If you want to feel happy, then practice joy and gratitude,
If you want to experience loving relationships, then practice feeling love, compassion, and empathy.
