Hello, my name is Renee Warner and I am thrilled to be joining the amazing team at Acubalance. I am a Registered Nurse with many years experience in the area of women’s health and midwifery. I am passionate about my work and am very pleased to offer some very specific and powerful bodywork techniques that can help with a variety of health issues.

I would like to introduce you to the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy (ATMAT), also known as Maya Abdominal Therapy ATMAT is an external, noninvasive massage that gently guides the reproductive organs into their proper position and improves blood and lymphatic circulation throughout the abdomen and pelvis. Maya massage improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen.

Some of the conditions that may be addressed by ATMAT include:

  • Painful periods
  • Endometriosis
  • Fertility challenges
  • Constipation
  • Lower back pain

Healers throughout history have known about the therapeutic effects of abdominal massage. In Central America, home of the Maya, most of women’s health care is still in the realm of traditional healers for centuries they have cared for women using massage, herbal remedies, and prayer. In addition to birthing, they treat diverse conditions such as painful menstruation, chronic miscarriages, infertility, menopausal symptoms and digestive issues.

Dr Rosita Arvigo spent many years learning these techniques from traditional healers in Central America. She then combined these ancient traditions with modern scientific knowledge to create a model of healing  that supports the body’s natural ability to be self-regulating, self-healing and self-regenerating. The Arvigo Techniques represent an unbroken chain of knowledge passed down from ancient civilizations to the present time.

I am very happy to offer this wonderful massage to the clients of Acubalance.
