Endometriosis, A Different Kind Of Pain
Endometriosis effects a large percentage of the patients I see in my practice. In most of these cases it has been a part of their infertility diagnosis as well as years of discomfort associated with their period. For the majority of these women their only mode of relief was from anti inflammatories such as Advil or by taking the Birth Control Pill. Neither of which offer long term relief once stopped. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine offers a strong treatment for both painful periods and endometriosis. In some cases acupuncture can be more effective than western drugs for pain relief and have a longer lasting effect. For women with severe endometriosis Laparoscopic surgery may be a good option. Unfortunately endometriosis often comes back after this type of surgery. Combining Chinese medicine with Laparscopic surgery offers better results than using the surgery alone.
Poorly understood by most medical doctors Acupuncture and chinese medicine is rarely suggested as an option to women suffering with endometriosis. To learn more about this treatment option I will include some links below. If you still have questions please call to set up a free 15 minute phone consultation on the treatment options for endometriosis and infertility.
