1 Festive Holiday Food To Boost Fertility

Ryan's picture

The holidays are known for a diet that tanks our health and swells our midsections. The good news is one of the common foods served can boost our fertility. The mini cabbage takes the cake for couples trying to conceive. Both men and women will see improvements to their chances of conception by eating brussel sprouts and here's why!

Rich in Folic Acid

Brussel sprouts are rich in Folic acid which is important for increasing sperm count in men. For women it decreases the risk of miscarriage and birth defects. Both extremely important in the journey to have a child.

Regulates Estrogen Levels

Brussel sprouts are a cruciferous vegetable which helps to regulate estrogen levels. Excess estrogen in both men and women can cause fertility issues. The great thing about this is that it also rids the body of environmental estrogens like toxins found in our diet or pesticides. Brussel sprouts along with broccoli, kale and cauliflower can all be very useful to couples trying to conceive.

Great Source of Vitamin C

Vitamin C is great at improving sperm quality (keeps from sperm clumping up) and is also a strong antioxidant.

Contains Sulforaphane

Sulforaphane is a super molecule that helps both your immune system and anti inflammatory processes. Studies have shown how this molecule helps combat cancer, lowers cholesterol and aids in the bodies ability to detoxify. One study points towards it's influence of fetal determinants of adult health.

When loading up your plate over the holidays take an extra serving of the green fertility boosting brussel sprouts. Other veggies such as broccoli, cauliflower and kale will also pack a great dose of health benefits.
Enjoy your holidays!
