Get Your Glow On Quite Literally with Acupuncture for Facial Renewal and LED Technology
What is the ancient art of acupuncture doing in the same room as photobiomodulation (aka Low Level Laser Therapy - LLLT) science? Working harmoniously to boost collagen, reduce inflammation, and promote healthy functioning of skin cells to help you look and feel your best!
Though the classical Chinese Medicine I practice is thousands of years old, it has evolved over time and continues to evolve today. LLLT/photobiomodulation is comparatively modern, though light therapy has been around as long as humans have been looking at the sun. The desire to look and feel healthy is timeless, and a have found these two modalities make the perfect pair in helping people create healthy skin from the inside out.
Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) for skin regeneration makes use of controlled wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate receptor sites in our cells which in turn promote cellular proliferation, collagen synthesis, wound healing, and the reduction of inflammation.
LED technology is a safe and effective way to deliver these wavelengths when produced by a high-quality, well-researched manufacturer. LEDs can deliver the right dose of light without any risk of damaging the eyes or burning or denaturing the skin.
I love incorporating light therapy into my facial acupuncture treatments as I find it both reinforces and speeds up results. The LED panel I use is designed to arc over the face. It is close enough to the surface of the skin to be effective but hovers perfectly over the small facial needles without disturbing them. Both the acupuncture needles and the light work together for 30 minutes to stimulate and revive healthy skin function.
These treatments can be used to soften lines, reduce redness, boost collagen production, even out skin texture and tone, reduce acne, and heal post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring among other things.
