One of the things that my patients share with me is that as soon as they start sharing their difficulties around fertility with their loved ones, everyone around them has an opinion about what they should do, especially around food.

 

“You need to eat more fat.”
“I was on a low-fat diet when I got pregnant.”

“You should eat more whole grains.”

“Eat more eggs!”

“Stop eating red meat if you want to have a girl.”

“Pineapples are the new fertility superfood!”

 

I’m sure all the advice is well-intentioned but it all makes sense and doesn’t make sense at the same time! And there’s so much contradictory information out there. I’m sure it makes you want to scream ARRRRRGGGHHHHHH! and run out of the room sometimes.
