Pregnancy supplements 101

Jun 12, 2017 | Emilie Salomons Dr. TCM, FABORM
There seems to be a polarized debate on supplements these days. I feel like every week I read an article talking about how supplements failed to do what they claimed they would do, but then supplementation is still highly recommended in many conditions. Add a pregnancy to this debate and things get even more heated, and confusing.

Famous Infertility- why it matters to hear that celebrities struggle to conceive.

May 10, 2017 | Emilie Salomons Dr. TCM, FABORM
It's hard to relate to celebrities. The lavish parties, the expensive clothes and jewelry, insane private island getaways, cleaners, cooks, chauffeurs, the list goes on. And yet, naturally, we look for ways that 'the stars' are just like us.

Cigarettes as self-care?

Apr 12, 2017 | Emilie Salomons Dr. TCM, FABORM
In my twenties, while studying full time, I worked nights as a homecare aid, weekends at MEC and lived in a slightly hectic apartment with two sweet, but messy guys and a dog. I was stressed and under-slept, and occasionally would fantasize about picking verbal fights with strangers on the street (repressed anger and frustration much?).

6 Zika basics for people trying to conceive

Feb 08, 2017 | Emilie Salomons Dr. TCM, FABORM

Most of the cases were from people traveling to Mexico.

Jan 25, 2017 | Emilie Salomons Dr. TCM, FABORM
Exercise is a vital part of staying healthy during pregnancy and when preparing for pregnancy. However, there are two forms of exercise that I suggest staying clear of during these times. (I can only imagine the heaps of hate mail I am about to receive)

Another successful Pad Drive!!

Jan 22, 2017 | Emilie Salomons Dr. TCM, FABORM
Thank you again to everyone who donated to the Acubalance Pad drive. We were able to provide the WISH Dop-in Centre with a hefty supply of pads and tampons. The donation couldn’t have come at a better time, as the centre suffered a sewage back up over the holidays and lost a lot of their donations.

Are you missing the holiday flavours, but not the gluttony? Have I got the soup recipe for you!!!

This soup is thanksgiving in a bowl. It brings me so much joy that I should probably revisit my relationship with food.

With the holidays fast approaching, it seems only natural to post about some sweet treats that won’t put a kink in your healthy fertility friendly diet. This is actually a recipe my mother found in a book years ago (but unfortunately can’t remember what book it was).
